In Greene County district court Cheyenne L. Johnson, 22, of Marshalltown was sentenced to 180 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of forgery. All but 30 days of the jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She must pay victim restitution (amount not specified), and she was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. The court has not yet determined if she is able to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. Charges of driving while license barred and identity theft less than $1,500 were dismissed.
A case against Johnson in magistrate court on a charge of providing false identification information was dismissed. Court costs in that case were $60. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Karl Maurice Krieger, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced Nov. 1 to one year in jail, with all but seven days suspended, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. He may complete the Weekend OWI-second offense class in lieu of four days of jail time, and he may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of four days of jail time. He was fined $1,875 with a $430 surcharge. On a charge of possession of marijuana, he was sentenced to two days in jail, concurrent to the OWI sentence. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. Ian Russell Patterson, 42, of Des Moines was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of eluding, amended from eluding causing injury while under influence alcohol/drugs or participating in a felony. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He must pay victim restitution to be determined. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge. On a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense Patterson was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for time served. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Cindy Jo Sheehy, 61, of Grand junction pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. A trial date was set for Dec. 13.
